Easy-to-use automated data exchange directly from PLM systems

The OpenDXM GlobalX PLM integration components that are available as standard solutions allow users to send and receive data directly from the interface of the respective PLM system. Logging of the data exchange processes with display of the status change also takes place in the PLM system. This enables PLM users to manage, monitor and trace the data exchange processes from within their familiar system environments. This saves time and optimizes the product development process with customers and suppliers.

Standardized and maintained integration components

Out-of-the-box components, which are subject to ongoing expansion and maintenance, enable problem-free support for PLM system updates and provide maximum investment protection. PLM integrations are currently available for the systems 3DEXPERIENCE, SAP PLM, SAP ECTR, Teamcenter and Windchill. If your PLM system is not included, don't worry: Our flexible plug-in concept, which always uses the official standard interfaces of the PLM system involved, enables easy integration with your system.

Data integrity and authentication

The "one-time login" function provided by the OpenDXM GlobalX PLM integrations is not merely a convenient user feature. The use of user credentials means that it also guarantees that only the data that the user in question is authorized to access can be sent from the PLM system. In addition, checking rules, which perform data consistency checks and display the results for the user to see, can be stored in the OpenDXM GlobalX PDMWizard. This avoids situations in which partners do not receive all the data and speeds up collaboration in development networks.

Interactive and automated data filtering

One of the useful functions provided by the PLM integrations is optional interactive and background data filtering. The user can select assemblies by clicking on the corresponding root element and can exclude documents in the tree structure that have a certain format from being sent. Filtering can be performed on the basis of defined templates or as a background process without any need for user intervention.

Partner-specific mapping

Every company normally uses its own specific part names, document names and number ranges in its PLM system. As a supplier, the customer data is sent to you with the nomenclature used by the customer and you are usually expected to deliver the data using the same nomenclature. OpenDXM GlobalX's PLM integrations allow the manual maintenance of third-party attributes, which involves a considerable amount of effort, to be automated.  A renaming component, which automatically renames the data based on partner-specific mapping templates, is provided for this purpose.

Automated CAD data processing

OpenDXM GlobalX provides pre-configured CAD conversion and verification methods, which are combined with a highly flexible and scalable batch processing framework. This ensures that engineering data can be processed automatically on a partner-specific basis both when it is sent and when it is received. The interfaces and licenses provided by the CAD system or Q-Check tool are used. These integrations are available for CATIA, CREO, NX, SolidWorks, Q-Checker, VALIDAT, PQA, 3D Evolution and other widely used systems as maintained standard components.

Full OFTP/ENGDAT processing for the automotive industry

The ENGDAT (Engineering Data Message) format, which is used in the European automotive industry in particular for the electronic data interchange (EDI) of CAD files, and the Odette File Transfer Protocol (OFTP) used for batch communication are available for OpenDXM GlobalX as standard components. This means that data exchange processes between companies can be fully automated. In conjunction with PLM integrations, system-to-system communication can be implemented to accelerate data exchange in the development network and speed up development processes.

Blockchain support

When it comes to the globally distributed manufacture of components using additive manufacturing processes, steps must be taken to ensure that the correct data is printed and that it cannot be copied any number of times. In combination with blockchain technology, OpenDXM GlobalX enables the creation of an end-to-end security solution for the exchange of 3D print data.
